Melbourne and Queensland superstar Cameron Munster has aggravated his groin injury in the Storm's thumping win over Parramatta, casting his State of Origin participation into doubt.

Munster missed the first three games of the season with a groin strain and re-injured it in back-to-back plays against the Eels, watching the second half of Melbourne's 48-16 win from the sidelines.

"When it first happened the medical staff thought it was not good at all, but I don't think they think it's quite that bad now," Craig Bellamy said after the game, although he admitted there was a lot unknown about the severity of the injury.

"He's been carrying it for a bit. It's not good for us. There's not much you can say really. Just got to wait for the scans."

Bellamy said Munster would likely have to have surgery on the groin at some point, which would rule him out of the whole Origin series, and the Storm may not even get him back in time for finals if they went down the route.

"I think if he has it now he probably won't play again for the rest of the year if it's the operation they think he needs," Bellamy said.

"I'm not saying he can't play Origin. I'd have loved to play Origin when I was a player, I just wasn't good enough. I would never stop anyone playing Origin for the good of the club."

Earlier, the undermanned Warriors snapped a five-game winless run with a controversial two-point win over the Penrith Panthers, with Dylan Edwards missing a 38-metre shot at penalty goal in the last minute that could have tied the game.

The Dolphins finished the round in front of their home fans with a 24-12 victory over the Tigers, handing the Western Sydney club a seventh straight loss.

'He's like a human condom': Josh Kerr's stunning description of captain Mark Nicholls

Josh Kerr likes playing with Mark Nicholls. He um ... well, look ...

"He's like a human condom, you feel that safe when he's out there with you. I love working with him."

The Maroons have a few injury woes in the forward pack, and Kerr has been in Origin camps before. Could he get on the field this time?

"That'd be the dream. I'm just really enjoying my football.

"Whatever happen, happens. Whatever Billy picks we trust them as Queenslanders. In Him we trust."

FULL-TIME: The Dolphins win 24-12, handing the Tigers their seventh straight loss

Magic Round comes to an end with a bit of a whimper, as the Dolphins get their third win on the trot and the Tigers make it seven straight defeats. That 17-16 win over Parramatta feels like a lifetime ago.

The Dolphins, meanwhile, move to a 7-3 win-loss record. And sign off Magic Round with another win for the Queenslanders.

Stunning from Connelly Lemuelu as the Hammer gets another

The ball comes wide to big Connelly Lemuelu, who plants the big right foot, beats his man and straightens through a gap, popping a ball inside to Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow to dot down under the posts.

"I think that's the end of the poor old Tigers," Clinton Schifcofske says on ABC Sport.

67' More bad decision making from the Tigers

They make great metres, going 65 metres off Herbie Farnworth's dropped ball, but Lachie Galvin has a rush of blood.

He sees space in behind and instinctively decides to kick, but no-one is chasing and Jamayne Isaako easily cleans up.

Galvin shouts at his outside men, but he only has himself to blame.

57' The Dolphins bomb one

Kodi Nikorima breaks through and chips as he comes to the fullback. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow is leading the race, but he can't reach the ball as it sits up, he tries to toe it ahead and kicks it dead.

A seven-tackle set for the Tigers as Justin Olam returns.

Api Koroisau hits back for the Tigers

It's another very late offload leading to a try for the Tigers, with Jayden Sullivan absolutely mobbed by three Dolphins, but somehow pops a ball out the back to Api Koroisau, who dives in next to the posts.

And that's with just 12 players on the park!

Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow flies 80 metres to score

Jahream Bula knocks on and it ends up in the hands of Jeremy Marshall-King and he pops it straight to Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow to show off his speed and go 70 metres to score under the posts.

The replays suggest there may have been a double knock-on, but the bunker says no. Might have come of JMK's chin and chest, rather than his arm.

49' The Dolphins are denied a try against 11 Tigers

Euan Aitken gets a short ball from Jeremy Marshall-King, angles in towards the middle and slams the ball down next to the posts.

But the bunker is chiming in for a potential obstruction.

Mark Nicholls found himself in front of the play and bunker official Kasey Badger says he obstructed Alex Seyfarth.

Brent Naden is still a minute-and-a-half away from returning.

47' Justin Olam is sin-binned for a hip drop!

Jamayne Isaako is down and struggling with his left knee and the replays show he was piggybacking Justin Olam, who takes his feet off the ground and lands on Isaako's knee.

The Tigers are down to 11 for the next three minutes.

44' The Tigers are baffling

Last tackle and the ball goes left to ... back rower Alex Seyfarth.

He's not comfortable with it so he flings it back right to Api Koroisau, who swings it to Jayden Sullivan, and he belts the ball into touch from 30 metres out.

Lachie Galvin is remonstrating. He's not happy that he didn't touch the ball there.

41' Jack Bostock returns to the field as the second half kicks off

HALF-TIME: The Dolphins lead the Tigers 12-6

The Dolphins have been a mixed bag tonight, with Kodi Nikorima throwing a few poor final balls.

The Tigers are staying in this contest. It's an absolute crapshoot in this one right now, but Naden's sin-bin could open things up in the first 10 minutes of the second half.

40' Brent Naden is in the sin-bin!

Kodi Nikorima throws a shocking pass behind Jack Bostock and the winger dives on it. It's called a knock-on and Brent Naden comes over and whacks him while he's on the ground, with his left arm collecting Bostock in the head.

"That is a dog shot. That was disgraceful," Clinton Schifcofske says in commentary for ABC Sport.

Bostock goes off for an HIA and that's seven of eight games in Magic Round with at least one sin-binning. Ten in total for the weekend.

Justin Olam dives over to put the Tigers on the board just before half-time

It looked like winger Solomon Alaimalo is well wrapped up by no less than three Dolphins, but he somehow gets a hand free and offloads to Justin Olam unmarked on the outside to run it around and get the Tigers on the board.

31' Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow might be colourblind

The Hammer bursts through the middle of the field and flicks a pass as he comes to Jahream Bula, but he's thrown it straight to not one but TWO Tigers.

Herbie Farnworth was on the other side of them, but that ball was never getting past those Tigers.

There's a definite jersey clash out there, and as a red-green colourblind man, I must say I'm struggling to tell the difference between the Dolphins' red and the Tigers' orange.

Big Mark Nicholls is over for the Dolphins

Charlie Staines fumbles a bomb and gives the Dolphins a full set in the Tigers' red zone.

They get a repeat set to boot, and the pressure tells with Jeremy Marshall-King sending fan favourite prop Mark Nicholls over just next to the posts.

Handy bit of footwork from Nicholls to get around Api Koroisau too.

24' The Tigers kick it dead ON THE FIRST

Wests are pressuring the Dolphins' line and Api Koroisau dinks a kick in and it ricochets off the defender.

The referee signals six again, but Lachie Galvin doesn't hear and he grubbers through, and it dribbles over the dead-ball line.

Still questions about the severity of Cameron Munster's groin injury

Just as it was at the start of the season, Craig Bellamy is uncertain exactly how bad Cameron Munster's groin injury is.

Bellamy says the initial feeling from Munster and medical staff was pretty dire, but things have calmed down somewhat since then.

"I didn't get a real report. When it first happened the medical staff thought it was not good at all, but I don't think they think it's quite that bad now.

"He's been carrying it for a bit. It's not good for us. There's not much you can say really. Just gotta wait for the scans.

"He's a passionate bugger and especially with Origin coming up. We rely a lot on him. He'll be upset about that. It won't just be about what he can do or can't do, the team's not gonna be as good. He's a great team guy."

Bellamy says Munster will likely need surgery at some point, but isn't sure they'd get their man back on the field for finals even if he went in tomorrow.

"I think if he has it now he probably won't play again for the rest of the year if it's the operation they think he needs.

"If he's capable of playing the end of the season then we'll go that way [if that's what Munster wants].

"I'm not saying he can't play Origin. I'd have loved to play Origin when I was a player, I just wasn't good enough. I would never stop anyone playing Origin for the good of the club."

Adding to the pain for Melbourne, Bellamy says he doubts halfback Jahrome Hughes will be back next week, especially as they have a bye the following round.

Jack Bostock shakes off a knee injury to open the scoring

It looked like the Dolphins winger could be out of the game after an awkward tackle with Brent Naden falling on his knee, but he's got back up and at 'em to finish off a neat left-side shift by the Dolphins and get those 'Phins Up in the stands.
