538b Fullarton Rd, Springfield.

A Springfield home offers a slice of country-style living on a picturesque parcel of land in one of Adelaide’s most popular suburbs.

Dr Asha Starr is selling the home at 538b Fullarton Rd on behalf of her parents Chandran and Sesh Savarirayan, who bought the home in 1988.

Since then, Dr Starr says both her late father and her mother, as well as the wider family, have absolutely loved their time at the property and shared many special moments there.

“The home was built in 1986, so it was still pretty much brand new when my parents moved in,” Dr Starr says.

“They really loved the layout of the property and they had been really wanting to buy a property in Springfield, so they had an agent looking out for them and he showed them through and they liked the feel of it immediately and could see themselves living there.

“They were country doctors in Whyalla and when they moved to Adelaide that was their suburb of choice – they loved the beautiful streets, stunning homes and the fact that they had the hills up behind them you can walk up into.

“Both my brother and I lived there too, because we were in our late teens and early twenties then, and at various stages we had grandparents come and live with us, so it was a lovely family home and it worked really well for that.”

The property offers some 381sq m of indoor and outdoor living and entertaining space, with the heart of the home being the open-plan kitchen, family and meals area on the ground floor.

It opens to a formal living and dining room, and you’ll also find a bedroom with an ensuite; a mudroom, a laundry and a carport down here.

Upstairs there is a family room, a balcony, four bedrooms and a family bathroom.

It is beautiful, Dr Starr says, and surprisingly original.

“They’ve painted throughout, but as you see it, that’s how it was when it was bought,” she says.

“It really is in extraordinary condition. And it’s a great entertainer. Being of Indian origin, Mum and Dad would cook a lot of curries and entertain all of their friends and these gatherings would flow from inside out into the garden, and it worked really well for that.”

With the home being close to shops and quality schools, Dr Starr says it could be ideal for either another family or a professional couple.

“Mum and Dad absolutely loved living there and they both wanted to stay there forever – they didn’t want to move, and I’m sure the next owners won’t either.”

The property is for sale through Klemich Real Estate.

Best offers close June 27 at 12.30pm.
