A trio of Australians have shown they mean business heading into the Paris Olympics after winning their respective events at the London Diamond League overnight.

Nina Kennedy (women's pole vault), Mackenzie Little (women's javelin throw), and Oliver Hoare (men's one mile) all won their events at London Stadium, just a week out from the start of the 2024 Games in France.

Kennedy marked a best of 4.85m to win her event, and heads into Paris as one of the gold medal favourites, despite three unsuccessful attempts at 4.95m, which would have been a world-leading mark for this year.

Canada's Alysha Newman was second with a 4.75m effort.

Little, the 2022 Commonwealth Games silver medallist, finished first in the women's javelin with a personal best of 66.27m throw on her first attempt, while also making the 60m mark in four of her next five attempts.

Meanwhile, five Australian runners featured in the men's one mile event but only Hoare finished in the top three, clocking a season-best 3:49.03 to secure his first Diamond League meet victory.

Stewart McSweyn (3:49.59) was fifth while Cameron Myers (3:50.16) was sixth. 

Catriona Bisset, a four-time national champion, also registered a season-best time of 1:58.12 in the women's 800m to finish ninth.
