Belgium's Remco Evenepoel has ridden into Olympic history as the first man to claim the time trial and road race at the same Olympics.
He made his move on a climb with 15km to go, and Valentin Madouas (France) couldn't stay with him.
In a heart-stopping moment Evenepoel had a puncture with 4km to go, and had to yell to his team car for a replacement bike.
He finished on a spare bicycle with no speedo computer or drink bottle, but he didn't need them, as he finished with enough time to punch the air, salute the crowd, and dismount right at the finish line.
France's Valentin Madouas took silver, and his countryman Christophe Laporte held for a sprint finish for bronze.
What a finish!
* The time trial/road race double-win has already been achieved in women's cycling, when Leontien van Moorsel won two gold medals at the Sydney 2000 Olympics.
