A nine-storey tower project has been approved for a beachside site owned by superstar Gold Coast music producer DJ Paul Fisher.

Designed by BDA Architects, the contemporary building will rise from an amalgamated 796 sqm site with “unobstructed beach views” on exclusive Jefferson Lane, Palm Beach.

Property records show pro surfer-turned-international performer Fisher purchased a 413 sqm parcel for $2.1m in February 2020, before securing the neighbouring lot for $3.1m in April last year.

The tower will be anchored

Two houses including a 1950s beach shack will be demolished to make way for the development, designed for YLB Property Developments – the initials match Fisher’s 2019 dance floor hit, You Little Beauty.

Plans approved by Gold Coast City Council detail, “eight floors of upscale, intimate residential units”, plus a ground-floor recreation zone including a glass-walled pool, gym, sauna and ice baths, as well as basement parking.

The curved tower will rise from a red brick podium.

“The form of the tower is inspired by the surrounding context of its natural environment of sweeping sand dunes and rolling waves.

“The podium base takes reference from the beach shack vernacular of Palm Beach, symbolised by character brickwork.”

The design includes white concrete to create a layered coastal effect

Six three-bedroom, two-bathroom units span 292 sqm over a full floor each, while the two-level penthouse comes in at just under 500 sqm, with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a private rooftop entertaining terrace with pool, spa, gym and studio with hinterland views.

White concrete and timber screening will be used in construction to create a layered coastal effect, and bedrooms and rear living spaces of each unit would be angled towards the ocean, leading onto a large balcony.

“This development boasts prime beach access and stunning ocean vistas,” documents filed with council state.

“This project prioritises spaciousness and liveability, catering to families while emphasising natural light, ventilation, and panoramic views.”

BDA shared news of the development’s approval as Fisher and wife Chloe embarked on a European tour with newborn daughter Bobbi.
