Australian radio king Kyle Sandilands has made significant strides in the real estate market following his success in radio.

From living on the streets at the age of 15 to purchasing a $14 million home in one of Sydney’s wealthiest suburbs, Sandilands has owned various luxurious and even royalty-worthy properties.

The KIIS FM shock jock, who signed a record $200 million 10-year contract with the radio station has previously revealed his own housing challenges, including how he was homeless at 15.

“You may not know this,” Sandilands said when he was a judge on Australia Idol in 2021.

“But I was homeless when I was 15 for a year, it’s not easy.”

“And getting out of that situation and making your life matter, that’s impressive, just getting out of that situation, because most people don’t.”

“It’s not easy, you don’t wanna run around. It’s a bit embarrassing sometimes.”

Sandilands, who has expanded his show to a national audience, has since opened up about his volatile childhood household. He claimed his upbringing was not necessarily much different from others in his neighbourhood.

At the age of 10, his parents separated. Sandilands and his younger brother lived with their mother who moved frequently.

Sandilands’s mother eventually remarried and at 15, Sandilands ended up on the streets.

“It’s when I go back to Brisbane and I drive down a street that I used to walk around when I was homeless, that’s when it really comes back as a real feeling but other than that it’s a distant memory,” he told The Daily Telegraph in 2020.

“It’s been a really wild and fun ride and because of my anti-authority drilled into my system for some reason as a kid, I just took that through the whole radio business.”

But the street life is a far cry from the multimillion dollar lifestyle Sandilands lives now. The 53-year-old, who lives with wife Tegan Kynaston and their son Otto, has poured his cash-up pay checks on real estate.

Here are some of the properties linked to Sandilands.

The layout includes three bedrooms on the entry level, while the fourth bedroom is located downstairs behind the garage.

There are plans to expand the property by adding a third storey to capitalise on Sydney Harbour and city views.

The couple have opened up about their desires to move the bedrooms upstairs so the entry level can be used as an entertainment space and expand to the alfresco area, the pool and spa.

Another reason Sandilands purchased the home was due to its proximity to exclusive schools.

In 2018, the radio shock jock revealed he splurged a whopping $2,982,500 on a 61ha farm in the NSW town of Robertson with his model then-girlfriend Imogen Anthony.

The property is known to locals as Twin Creeks — because two natural spring creeks meet there — but Anthony has nicknamed it (presumably because of the red roof) Crimson Peak.

Although the couple split in 2020, they continue to keep the farm to house more than 100 rescued animals.

Because of this, they have no plans to sell the property, and Anthony occasionally shares photos on Instagram of herself in the paddocks with the animals.

Sandilands and ex-girlfriend Anthony also rented this eye-catching Mosman mansion.

The couple gave their fans an exclusive and rare tour of the property in the first episode of MTV Cribs.

“We normally keep our house private, but I was a big fan of the show growing up,” Sandilands told Channel 7’s The Morning Show.

While it’s not clear how much the duo paid in rent, previous listing showed the property had an asking price of $5000 per week.

The listing described the property as “exquisitely private”, “tri-level waterfront home” with “spellbinding views spanning the full breadth of Middle Harbour”.

In the tour the three-level home was splashed with unusual decor such a Wiccan altar and life-size giraffe.

Other features include a fully-equipped games room with second kitchen, pool, outdoor barbecue area, lush gardens and a three-car garage.
