A Mount Barker Summit home offers an idyllic country escape and has enough room for you to embrace an equestrian lifestyle, manage stock, or just leave children free to explore.
It’s also poised to set a new pinnacle for residential home ownership, with the property likely to set a new price record when it sells.
The 446 Summit Rd residence has been listed with a price guide of $3.3m, meaning it would eclipse the previous record holder by at least $1m, according to property records.
It would leave owners Cathy and Ashley Day with sizeable resell profit, with the couple having owned the property since 2010.

“The house was my dream contemporary country homestead and it’s surrounded by beautiful 200-year-old gums and has views that go on for miles,” Mrs Day says.
“The lady who had it before us planted the garden so that there was always something flowering and it changed with the seasons.
“We’ve done our own bit to the garden, and put in a pool, and now it really is the most incredible place to live – and such an easy commute from the city as well.”
Sitting on a 22.27ha property with paddocks, an implement shed and a horse arena, the home has four bedrooms, and several indoor and outdoor entertainment areas.
Mrs Day says the property has been the perfect place for her and her husband to raise their three children.
“It has a huge pavilion out the back and you can use that year round, the kids can skate and scoot around the return veranda, and they’ve really loved the pool as well,” she says.
“We’ve had lots of barbecues here over the years and at the rear of the property is a beautiful spot we love to go camping with family and friends.
“With our children home less, it’s just more than we need now.”
The property is on the market with Harcourts Adelaide Hills – Stirling/Mt Barker.
