Three people raised a hand at Saturday’s auction before the house sold under the hammer for $750,000, sparking celebrations for the buyers.

The Hamlan Homes design offered four bedrooms and zoned living spaces.

Ray White Victoria chief auctioneer Matthew Condon calls the auction of the Barwon Health Foundation’s House4Health in Lara.

Mr Fiorillo said he was happy to help out the Barwon Health Foundation.

“I’m a Lara local. I had the business out here since I was 16 – I had the fruit and veg business and I had Xpresso Lounge Cafe, which I had just sold in April,” he said.

“Now I’m operating a cafe out at Avalon Airport, SkyLounge Cafe.”

Mr Fiorillo said the house would provide a good home base when he’s in Lara.

“I’ve always loved the town and this has been a great foundation and I’m happy to help out,” he said.

Ray White, Lara agent Matthew Wade-Taylor was among the first to congratulate Paul Fiorillo at Saturday’s auction.

Saturday’s auction drew a carnival atmosphere, including a street party with performances by the Mik Maks.

The auction kicked off with a $680,000 bid and Ray White Victoria chief auctioneer Matt Condon worked the crowd as the bidding stalled at $720,000.

After a brief interlude the mood of the crowd lifted as new bids raised the stakes and Ray White Lara agent Matthew Wade-Taylor declared the property was on the market.

Mr Wade-Taylor said Hamlan Homes’ build quality was on display throughout the house, which offers two living zones wrapping around a central outdoor entertainment area.

A gas log fire is the focal point of the open-plan living zone.

A main bedroom retreat is at the front of the house, while a gas log fire is a focal point in the open-plan living area, where the kitchen has Smeg appliances, stone benchtops and a walk-in pantry.

Sliding doors link to a partially covered outdoor entertainment area that provides both sunshine and shade.

The yard of the 511sq m is designed to be low maintenance, with eco timber decking and artificial turf.

The main bedroom features a raked ceiling, part of the stunning design to the home.

The deck can comfortably host a crowd.

There are three more bedrooms, each with built-in wardrobes, while a study nook in the children’s bedrooms wing is among a host of extras, including a wide 2.5-car garage and workshop and high ceilings.

Barwon Health Foundation chairman Dan Simmonds said House4Health was the foundation’s biggest-ever fundraising endeavour.

“We’ve been so lucky that we’ve been able to pull together all of those people to present this house here today,” he said.

“Every dollar that you give goes straight back into our community to provide services, to provide health for our community. Health is it the foundation of the quality of life that we all aspire to have in Geelong and the surrounding region.”
