“It’s got a fantastic vista over both Granite Island and The Bluff, and it’s just a short drive to Victor Harbor and Encounter Bay, with their shops and restaurants,” he says.

“We wanted a family-friendly weekender, and it was the perfect place for us to spend Christmas and school holidays.

I have a business interest down here so I use it every week, and have done for some years, and it’s been great for that, and it was fantastic to have during Covid. Because we built it for ourselves we did it to the highest standard.”

The two-storey home has three bedrooms, bathrooms both upstairs and downstairs, a ground-floor lounge and an open-plan kitchen, dining and living room opening to a balcony on the upper level. Mr Connor says he rented the property out full time for its first few years, and has used it as a beach house since then.

“The location is just so good. I love watching the storms roll in, and, being a keen fisherman, I love that I can catch whiting just out the front.”
