17-19 Arrowfield Dr, Wamuran is the nation’s most viewed home for sale

A Queensland acreage property with a backyard rivalling a tropical resort has been crowned the nation’s most wanted home for sale.

The Wamuran estate’s showstopper pool and towering water slide sparked a buyer frenzy, notching up more views on realestate.com.au than any other listing.

The four-bedroom, two-bathroom property at 17-19 Arrowfield Court is marketed by Dewar Estate Agents with a price guide of around $1.6m.

The home is located in Brisbane’ northern region

It was designed as the forever home for a pool builder and his family

Pool builder Jamie Strachan and his wife Rose, of Just Swimming Pool Renovations, purchased a half-finished house on the 8,192 sqm site in 2014 and transformed it into an entertainer’s paradise.

Standout features include the huge heated saltwater pool, complete with stone waterfalls and submerged cocktail lounge, along with two separate al fresco entertaining zones with an outdoor kitchen with pizza oven, spa, and custom party lighting.

There’s also a fire pit, children’s playground and cubby house built for sons, Reef, 7, and Hunter, 5.

And for the big kids? Four sheds offer an abundance of workshop or storage space, with capacity for 14 trucks or 52 cars.

Features of the house itself include stone benchtops and servery window in the kitchen, a home gym, study, and luxurious family bathroom.

Ms Strachan said the house “was basically a shell” when they bought it, with the prior owners unable to finish planned renovations.

“We looked at the potential of the flat land and being just 9 minutes to get to the highway it was perfect for us,” she said.

“We didn’t have a lot of money when we bought it so we did the back area first and then kept adding to it as we could afford it.

“We bought this as our forever house, so that’s why we have spent so much on it, but as the family has got a bit older we decided we wanted more land so we have bought 14 acres just across the highway and we are going to build again,” she said.

And yes – the new pad will also include an epic pool party set-up.

Marketing agent Sue Dewar described the property as, “one of the year’s most remarkable homes”, and said the buyer response had been “phenomenal”.

“Most of the interest has been from local families drawn by the lifestyle on offer, and from couples who are interested in the potential to run a home business, because you have two acres and the massive sheds on 200mm-thick concrete,” Ms Dewar said.

PropTrack data shows house prices in Wamuran, in Brisbane’s northern region, were up 5.6 per cent over the past 12 months to a median of $1.135m.
