A six-month property search is finally over for buyers who paid a $45,000 premium for a resort-style entertainer auctioned in Highton.
The couple splashed $1.045m on the five-bedroom house with a swimming pool and large garage at 5 East Kirkby Court.
The family friendly court location close to Christian College drew three bidders to the 873sq m property, which had a $950,000 to $1m price guide.

A $970,000 opening bid kicked off proceedings, with the eventual buyers seeing off one competitor before another entered the race at $1.028m.
Buxton agent Tony Moorfoot declared the house on the market just four bids in as the price hit the $1m mark.
“It’s a great family home, we can just move in,” the buyer said.
“We have been looking since April.”
Entertaining takes centre stage at the two-storey brick house where the open-plan living hub has bi-fold doors onto covered patio and deck overlooking the swimming pool.
A formal lounge with a gas log fire and home office both have garden views, while the main bedroom suite upstairs has a private balcony.
Outside, the double garage includes additional workshop space.
Mr Moorfoot said the central Highton location was a big drawcard for families who wanted to be close to amenities and within the Belmont High School catchment.
“It’s walking distance down to the Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre, Highton Village is not far, High St is not far,” he said.
“You’ve also got Deakin Uni, the ring road, the Surf Coast, the CBD, it’s a really central spot here and you’ve got a beautiful home as well.”
