A busy road proved no deterrent to finding a buyer for a renovated Highton house that earned vendors a $20,000 bonus in a quick sale.
One inspection was all it took to attract multiple offers for the three-bedroom weatherboard residence at 4 Scenic Rd.
A young couple from Manifold Heights paid $816,000 to edge out the competition, pushing the price above top hopes of $795,000.

Buxton agent Dylan Taggert said the vendors were rewarded for their home’s great presentation.
A stylish modern kitchen, bathroom with terrazzo feature tiles and a covered deck for outdoor entertaining left nothing for the buyers to do.
“It was a quick sale. The first open I had about 22 groups through, which resulted in three or four offers and it sold over the asking price,” Mr Taggert said.
“It was a combination of the presentation of the property and the location. I know Scenic Rd can be fairly busy but in terms of value for money its pretty close to Highton Village and the ring road and the schools.
“I think it was probably the presentation that carried it through and also the property is set in the middle of the block, not right at the front on Scenic Rd, so it offered a bit more privacy.”
He said owner occupiers, from professional couples to downsizers and young families, were among those drawn to the 617sq m property.
The vendors had renovated over recent years, creating two living zones, both with deck access. Another deck sits off the rear of a tandem garage with workshop space and its own toilet.
