Rumours are swirling former Bachelor star Sam Wood and his wife Snezana have come close to purchasing a $14m property in Brighton.
Industry sources hinted the pair were the new owners of a six-bedroom mansion in the suburb, which is believed to have been quietly sold for about $14m.
But another source close to the Herald Sun said they were unable to come up with a deposit.

Sam Wood starred on The Bachelor in 2015 where his met his now wife, Snezana.
He has since launched 28 By Sam Wood, a home fitness and nutrition platform as well as the personal training studio The Woodshed in Brighton.
Snezana Wood is an author who wrote the memoir Untold: A story of love, motherhood, heartbreak and change, and has a sleepwear collection with Homebodii.
Marshall White Stonnington director Ben Vieth said the pair had been looking for a home in the Brighton area, but declined to comment on if they had purchased.
Another source said they had been looking for as long as two years for the right abode.
A home in the area advertised with a more than $16m asking price with a tennis court, pool and large veranda as well as multiple living zones disappeared from online listings this week, with rumours suggesting the Woods had bought it.
The agent named as handling inquiries said the home was never meant to be advertised online and it was a “glitch” that it had appeared on listing sites.
CoreLogic records show the residence could be leased in late 2022 and early 2023 for $2400 a week, and was last sold in March 1980 for $315,000.
