“We wanted the quality but we only had a certain budget available to us at the time.

“We couldn’t afford everything we wanted right away, but we didn’t want to cut corners and do anything cheaper so we finished it off as we could afford it because we didn’t want to compromise on the end result.”

“We’ve got three kids, and they loved that theatre room and they’d get their friends over for sleepovers and it would be full of kids,” Mr Shizas says.

“There have been quite a few Christmases here, birthdays, Grand Final days and other parties and we’ve done a lot of outdoor entertaining. I built the pizza oven and once that was in we’d have everyone over all the time, with people making their own pizzas.

“That got a lot of use, and because Niki does mosaics, she finished that off an absolute treat and it looks amazing.”

With one child already having left the nest, and their other children getting older, Mr Shizas says the family has now outgrown the home and it’s time for someone else to love it.

“We’re looking forward to a nice family taking it on and having another generation have those lovely family memories.”
