A playground designer-turned-tech entrepreneur went to extreme lengths to get his kids off screens, transforming his Gold Coast acreage into a family compound that rivals an adventure holiday park.
Paul Giddings and his wife Kirsten turned their 5,009 sqm Ormeau estate into a jaw-dropping haven for their five children, Tenille, Imogen, Daniel, Ethan, and Jack, aged 14 to 25.
Perks include a heated pool and spa complete with a towering waterslide and jumping platform. A resort-style pavilion inspired by Fijian holidays features a bar, teppanyaki hut, surround sound, and a sauna – perfect for family gatherings or entertaining friends.
Outside, the fun continues with a putt-putt golf course, basketball key, and a 100m bike and scooter track. Indoors, the property is equally impressive, with a fully equipped gym and games room and wine cellar offering spaces to relax or work out.
The property at 1 Healy Ct is for sale at $3.6m-plus with Freedom Property agent Kylie Macdonald, who described the estate as “an experience like no other.” Guided inspections even come with a map to navigate the expansive grounds.
Mr Giddings, founder of Package Landscapes Australia, said the property was designed to encourage his kids to embrace outdoor play and entice the younger boys away from video games.
“We specialise in building playgrounds for childcare centres across Australia, focusing on natural play spaces,” he said.
“We saw the need to encourage kids to play outside and that’s really where the inspiration for our home came from.
“We wanted to inspire our own kids to get outside, so instead of plastic playgrounds we created features like a scooter track and exciting spaces to kick a ball.”
The property has three separate dwellings, making it ideal for multi-generational living or hosting extended family.
While the outdoor wonderland highlights Mr Giddings’ expertise in creating recreational spaces, the home also showcases his latest venture, Know Your Home – a tech app designed to make managing properties easier.
“Instead of just handing over the keys, the app gives buyers access to all the important details, from trade history and warranties to pool maintenance schedules and renovation records. It’s a seamless way to manage a property,” Mr Giddings said.

The tech-savvy estate integrates smart systems, with no fewer than seven apps helping run the household.
“When you spend so much time outdoors in Queensland, it’s essential to have exciting spaces that encourage everyone to make the most of it,” Mr Giddings said. “We’ve really enjoyed the lifestyle, but with the kids growing up, it’s time for us to move on.”
Records show the owners purchased the site in 2016.
House prices in Ormeau in the city’s north have soared 13.2 per cent over the past 12 months, to a median of $894,000.
