Interstate buyers are looking to New South Wales' regional areas, driven by serene living and burgeoning new developments.
Latest data from realestate.com.au has revealed an increase in interest in properties across regional New South Wales.
Over the last 12 months, Newcastle, Moama, Kingscliff, and Port Macquarie topped the list of regional searches by interstate buyers.
According to Regional Australia Institute, regional NSW, Victoria and Queensland account for 90% of the net influx of people moving from cities. NSW has a share of 36% of this.
“One of the main factors driving city dwellers to the regions is the high property prices in metropolitan areas, coupled with ongoing cost-of-living pressures,” REA Group Senior Data Analyst Karen Dellow said.
“Potential buyers are finding it increasingly challenging to afford reasonably-sized properties in the cities, with many first-home buyers settling for one-bedroom apartments to enter the property market.
“However, with hybrid work arrangements, many employees only need to be in the office a few days a week, making it feasible to live further from their place of work.”
Here are new developments drawing interstate buyers.
