Christina Haack has broken down on her new show as she describes the breakdown of her marriage to Josh Hall.

Christina Haack broke down in tears as she opened up about the breakdown of her marriage to Josh Hall, admitting in an emotional conversation with her former husband Tarek El Moussa that things had become so toxic between them that her kids begged her to end the relationship.

Haack, 41, can be seen making the heartwrenching admission in a teaser clip from the opening episode of her upcoming HGTV series, “The Flip Off,” in which she stars with El Moussa and his wife, Heather Rae El Moussa, Realtor.com reports.

The candid comments follow months of public scrutiny over Haack and Halls’ relationship, including a court battle over Haack’s $7m AUD farmhouse in Tennessee.

Hall made headlines earlier this year when he went to court to block Haack from selling the property, claiming he had been living there and it had been listed for sale without his consent.

”The Flip Off”, which is due to premiere on January 29 in the US, was originally meant to feature Haack and Hall in a furious home-flipping battle against the El Moussas. However, those plans were quickly scrapped after Haack and Hall announced they were divorcing after less than three years of marriage — forcing HGTV to reimagine the show without one of its stars.

Hall has since been removed from all promotional images for the series — and his name was even left out of a press release touting the premiere episode. The show description now simply refers to him as Haack’s “husband.”

However, while Hall is no longer involved in the show, the dramatic unravelling of his marriage to Haack looks set to play a major role in the series.

“As ‘The Flip Off’ begins, Christina will start the competition against Tarek and Heather alongside her husband, but a sudden life change will bring a shocking twist,” HGTV revealed in a statement.

“With even more to prove on her own, Christina will turn to her trusted team, stopping at nothing to silence Tarek’s endless bragging and beat him at his own flipping game.”

In the accompanying teaser clip, Tarek is seen paying a visit to Haack, who appears visibly distressed.

“Uh-oh, I know that look. … What’s up?” her former spouse asks.

Josh Hall is nowhere to be seen in the promotional material for the new show.

Haack then admits that she and Hall have “officially split up,” before revealing more details about the shocking “blow-up” that led to their separation.

“We had a blow-up — middle fingers in my face,” she says, tearing up. “Things with Josh have been bad for a long time.”

She then reveals that her relationship with Hall had reached such a severe level of toxicity that it was starting to take a toll on her three children: Taylor, 14, Brayden, 9, and Hudson, 5.

“The kids literally asked me to leave,” she says. “They told me he’s not nice to me, why would I stick around. … I feel like I’m in a tornado all the time, and I just can’t get out of it.”

In tears, Haack admits to Tarek that her life has been in turmoil “since 2016″ — two years before their marriage came to an end — before candidly apologising to him for the “s—” she has done.

“Everything since 2016 has been so hard and so horrible,” she says. “It’s really taken a really bad toll on me. I’m really sorry for the s — I do, I really do.”

Her breakdown leaves Tarek reeling — and he appears to be choking back tears as he confesses his feelings of guilt over her difficult experiences, taking ownership of the part he has played in her turmoil.

“I understand that feeling of being a little bit lost,” he says. “And I acknowledge that I’m a big part, if not the entire part, of all of this.”

The teaser clip marks the first time that Haack has revealed the role that her children played in her divorce — which has seen both Haack and Hall throwing brutal barbs at each other, both in public and in court documents.

Court documents filed by Hall’s lawyers as part of a temporary emergency order to try to halt the sale of the Tennessee farmhouse claim while Haack bought the house before they married, the “paydown of the mortgage during marriage” entitles him to a say in what becomes of the dwelling.

“The community maintains an appreciation interest due to the paydown of the mortgage during marriage,” he writes. “A premature sale may result in prejudice to me as property values continue to rise in Tennessee, which continues to grow in population.”

He further claimed that Haack had asked for his “written agreement” to sell the home on Sept. 23, but insists that he refused.

As part of a temporary settlement that was put in place in September, Hall was granted full use of the Tennessee property, provided he did not rent it out to anyone else, while Haack took control of their $12 million Newport Beach, CA, home, which they purchased together.

After Haack listed the Tennessee property, Hall claims he was forced to relocate to a new abode, which he says increased his living expenses. He also insisted that he was “suffering prejudice” as a result of Haack’s decision to list the property.

Hall has been slowly removed from Haack’s other reality show, Christina in the Country, as the program’s timeline nears the breakdown of their marriage.

Hall was removed from Christina in the Country’s opening credits earlier this month but has yet to depart the show entirely.
