The buyer wasn’t able to attend the auction, so his parents were on bidding duties.
“He’s currently away so mum and dad did the bidding for him on the day,” said Barry Plant, agent Matthew Hunt.

“We chatted to him shortly after on WhatsApp and he was over the moon to be able to participate and secure it,” Mr Hunt said.
“He’s going to move in, he’s currently renting at the moment and would rather put his money into the property market himself.

“He saw a good little opportunity to buy something that had a bit of funkiness to it.”
Price hopes had been $500,000 to $550,000 for the 337sq m property that’s walking distance to Belmont’s High St.
Barry Plant, Highton auctioneer Matthew Hunt and agent Brittany King in action.
Bidding opened at $490,000 and Mr Hunt declared the property on the market when the price reached $540,000.
Inside, two of the three bedrooms have a built-in wardrobe and there’s a central bathroom with separate toilet, and light-filled kitchen/living/dining area.

Other features include polished hardwood flooring, a double carport and private rear yard.
Mr Hunt said many buyers were impressed by how well-kept the “little Belmont gem” was throughout the campaign.

“Buyers are still out there wanting to purchase good real estate.
