FOR a man who has shed a considerable amount of weight by “eating healthy” and through “portion control”, billionaire businessman Clive Palmer has been obsessing about junk food of late.
Over the past week, Mr Palmer has posted on social media how much he adores vinegar chips, indulges in eating Tim Tams — only one at a time, mind you — and his love for hamburgers.
It’s possible Mr Palmer is indulging in his favourite snacks and junk food because he reached his goal of losing 62kg.
In November, Mr Palmer posted on Facebook that he weighed 111kg after being 153kg when started his new eating regime, and there was “only 20kg more to go.”
However he’s now urging his followers to like and share his post if they feel the same way as him about hamburgers.
He’s even posted a selfie video on Twitter professing his love for the forbidden junk food.
On Facebook he asked his followers to like and share his post “if you love them (hamburgers) too”.
That post alone has had more than 50,000 views, more than 2000 likes and more than 500 shares.
Two days ago, Mr Palmer posted that “Vinegar chips are the best” and it prompted one of his followers, Jane Bell, to suggest the former politician “start a youtube (sic) channel where you review Australian Made (sic) snack food”.
The 62-year-old did offer some healthy advice on February 20 when he wrote that people should “give up fried hamburgers” and “raw onion makes you feel good”.
However, that contradicted an earlier post on the same day when he asked, “who wants a hot dog? I love hamburger. I love lettuce”.
Besides food, Mr Palmer stated there should be “free prostrate (sic) tests for all men … and free beer” and “free pap smear tests for women”.
We’ve reached out to Mr Palmer to see what he tips the scales at these days.
