No. 18 Stanley Cl, which had an advertised price guide of $1.8 million to $1.9 million, sold prior to auction.

The buyers were a couple from Lindfield who wanted a place with more space than their existing unit.

The vendor was an elderly lady who was moving to a nursing home.

Selling agent Peter Brack, of Century 21 Radar Properties — Turramurra, said the vendors were “very, very happy” with the result, which was “more than what they were expecting”.

Mr Brack took more than 80 groups through the home for inspection and issued about 12 contracts.

“We had a lot of inquiries on the property, because there’s a lot of people looking to downsize but don’t want to move into a unit or a two or three-storey townhouse,” he said.

“(The local market) remains very strong and those types of properties that appeal to downsizers are in very high demand.”
