A St Hubert’s Island four-bedder sold for $965,000 last week, reportedly setting a new record for a landlocked property in the suburb.
Local agents initially told the owners of 10 Sirius St they wouldn’t get over $900,000 for their home, but impeccable presentation drew a mix of interest and several keen would-be buyers.
Tom O’Gorman of George Brand Real Estate — Kincumber said the private treaty result was a pleasant surprise for the home’s sellers.
“They’re very excited, they were really pleased.” he said.
He said 22 groups inspected the home during the campaign, which drew more than one offer.
“It ticked a lot of boxes for people ... it had a nice floorplan and a very good yard.”

According to CoreLogic figures, the home has nearly doubled in value in seven years. It sold for $512,500 at the end of 2010, and was purchased in 2014 for $722,500.
The home’s buyers were a mature couple relocating from Killcare, who have family on the island.
