Inside Willesee’s abode.
TV current affairs icon Mike Willesee sold his Bondi Beach investment apartment prior to Tuesday night’s auction.
While Laing + Simmons Double Bay agent Danny Doff was tight-lipped about the price, other sources revealed it was snapped up for about $2.6 million.
Mr Doff and his colleague Chantal Buckley had been quoting about $2 million early in the campaign.

Core Logic shows Mr Willesee, who it was recently revealed has been responding well to treatment for a cancer in his throat, had paid $1,575,000 for the two-bedroom, two-bathroom 220sq m apartment at 2/8 Francis Street in 2011.
The unit is part of a boutique block of six.
Core Logic also shows that it had been fetching $1,340 a week in rent.

The property was described as “an oasis of peace and privacy” in the listing and the architect-designed building is just a short walk from Bondi Beach.
It features a combination of exposed concrete, stone, timber and glass as well as expansive indoor and outdoor living spaces.

The open-plan kitchen, dining and living space flows through glass doors onto a north-facing, level timber deck bordered by tall tropical trees, which provides privacy.
One of the bedrooms leads onto its own private outdoor atrium.
There are two marble-tiled bathrooms; the kitchen has Gaggenau appliances and there are heated limestone floors.
