Disaster for Australia, really - that's their fourth draw in six games in the qualifying round and now it's basically a do-or-die proposition next Tuesday in Sydney against the UAE. Australia move into second for now but they cannot stay there, regardless of the result in a couple of hours. 

If Japan win or draw they will go back above the Socceroos, or if the UAE win, they'll leapfrog both...leaving the two heavyweights of the group in third and fourth spot. 

But on tonight's match, credit to Iraq. They were compact and then countered quickly, were unlucky to go behind and didn't let their heads drop once they did. They fought well for an equaliser and both sides had chances to win it in the last 10 minutes. An experimental formation has backfired on Ange Postecoglou, it looked disjointed at times and a backline that was reduced in numbers looked overrun on multiple occasions.
