An interesting open over for Ravi Ashwin. Warner comes down the wicket to the spinner toward the end, looking to put it straight back over his head, but the ball hits a crack and turns hard into the edge of the bat. Good intent from the opener, taking it to Ashwin from the off and he's rewarded with the ball landing safely.

With that, Ashwin will thrown down some spin at the expense of Umesh Yadav, who hasn't bowled too badly.

The spinner has taken the wicket of Warner nine times now - this should be an interesting contest between the two.

Woah - Warner pounds one through backward point. That took about one second to reach the rope. They're not here to put shoes on caterpillars.

The confidence of the Indian attack has taken a hit, it seems. Warner and Smith look more comfortable than they once were this afternoon.

It's dangerous to let these two get settled, but I wouldn't rule out a cracker delivery getting through before the new ball fades completely.

Worth noting that India have taken three spinners into this match with the addition of Kuldeep Yadav, - maybe they would change it up if they had their time again, after losing the toss. 

Meantime a pretty tasty boundary from Smith takes the Australian total past the half century mark.

India's waterboy looks familiar.

That's 11 off the over! A bit of Smith's glove sends it high up in the air off what was a good bouncer - the captain get's enough on it to clear any fielders behind the stumps and he takes a single.

Michael Clarke reckons the Indians in fact don't have a plan. It was an interesting move to have at him from around-the-wicket with the new ball - they've now shied away from that tactic.

The men in the middle are scoring at around a run a ball. They are here to put runs on the board.

Smith joins the party - a lovely square drive as it's delivered outside the line of off-stump. That's followed up with another, even-wider delivery - Smith goes after it with a half-cut, half-driven shot - CRUNCHED through the off-side on the up. Great shot!

Warner is looking to score after that early chance. Australia have taken past the 30 mark after just seven overs. 

That's not to say the bowling outfit has nothing to offer - great bounce from Kumar and he's surprised Warner - though not enough to avoid him helping it over the cordon for four more.

Lots of noise from the crowd as India's true captain, Virat Kohli, runs the drinks out while the umpires look over the ball.

As I'm sure you're aware, he was ruled out just 20 minutes before play this afternoon.

Warner will be looking to make his mark here, in the final test - struggling to put them on in his usual fashion, this series. 

He has had a few starts but has succumbed to the Indians a number of times around the 15-30 run region already. 

Meantime, Umesh has begun to come around-the-wicket to Smith, suggesting the home side has a plan for the captain.

Smith is joining in too. He's started to play a few shots, especially off the legs as Kumar moves around-the-wicket. It's a strange one, given the bowling looked pretty solid before, though he IS getting movement across Smith.

A good over from Umesh once again. He's giving the Aussies a bit of trouble out there with the new ball - though barring any big mistakes, Smith and Warner have seen out this kind of bowling before.

Warner is certainly not shying away from helping them on their way to the boundary either, if they are there to hit.

It's Kumar once again. Will Warner be able to wipe that first delivery from his mind and settle? Kumar is swinging them out, away from Warner and then sending the odd delivery straight at him.

Australia fancied the pitch here, electing to bat first - but so far India are making it happen. 

Now it's the captain, Steve Smith, out in the middle. He'll have to knuckle down here - advantage India after two overs.

And despite all the action at the other end, it's Umesh that strikes first! A cracker of a delivery - nicks the seam on a length, and the ball finds it's way through the smallest of gaps between Renshaw's bat and pad. The ball crashes into the top of off-stump.

Looking back at that first delivery - beautifully swinging out, grabs a thick outside edge while on the up as Warner chases the drive. What a start that would have been for India - imagine the energy they'd have taken from Warner's wicket, first ball.

That ends up as 10 runs off the first over as Warner goes for it outside the off stump, but this time crushes it through cover for another four.
