A rare, high-profile retail and medical investment opportunity is now available at the heart of Wynnum West in one of Brisbane’s established eastern suburbs.

Wynnum West Shopping Centre has been an established retail and medical destination for over 50 years. Featuring a Foodworks supermarket and 12 speciality tenancies, many of whom are longstanding tenants, the Centre is being offered to the market for the first time in over a half a century by Jon Tyson and Michael Harcourt of Savills.

The property has been owned by the same family since the 1950s when it was part of a larger parcel of land where the family originally grew and sold watermelons. The Centre was built in four stages with the first building developed in the early 1960s.

The most recent stage was constructed in the late 1990s which included a major refurbishment of the entire centre, an expansion of the Foodworks Supermarket and the construction of a purpose built building for the dentist, who is one of the original tenants.

Mr Tyson said “the Wynnum West Shopping Centre represents a unique investment opportunity to purchase a slice of local history in the tightly-held and highly sought-after metropolitan Brisbane location.”

He said the single-level convenience centre boasts a high-profile corner location on Wynnum Road with a total net lettable area of approximately 1,438sq m.

Mr Harcourt said the centre features a dynamic tenancy mix including Foodworks, Domino’s Pizza, Sonic Health Care, HealthSave Pharmacy, a Medical Centre, Dental Clinic and Red Rock Noodle Bar.

“This property is very well positioned in a high exposure main road location and provides a well-established and popular convenience retail and medical offering to the Wynnum-Manly community. The fact that it is now for sale for the first time in over half a century, it is quite possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity,” he said.
