London: The jury has been sworn in for the trial of Australian entertainer Rolf Harris who is accused of four counts of indecent assault against three women, two of whom were teenagers.

The jury, comprising seven women and five men, were ordered by Judge Deborah Taylor to put out of their minds any prior media reporting they may have read or seen about the high-profile entertainer.

Judge Taylor told the jury to begin the trial with a "blank page in your minds" to be filled only by the evidence heard in the courtroom.

The 87-year old is accused of four counts of indecently assaulting three women between 1971 and 1983. Two of the alleged victims were aged below 16 at time the alleged offences took place. 

Harris appeared via video-link, sporting his trademark goatee and spectacles. He wore a grey suit, white shirt and dark blue tie with red braces.

The trial is expected to last around two weeks.
