Macquarie Group expects its 2018 financial year profit result to be broadly in line with its previous year record profit of $2.2 billion.
Ahead of its annual general meeting today, the banking and financial services group said performance from its operations was in line with expectations, with the first quarter of the 2017-18 up on the prior corresponding period despite being below the final quarter of 2016-17.
Macquarie lifted full-year profit 7.5 per cent in 2016-17 to a fresh record of $2.22 billion, while its net profit from its banking and financial services unit soared 47 per cent to $513 million.
