A REGIONAL coastal town has beat the affluent Brisbane suburb of Ascot to take out this week’s top sale in Queensland.
A three-bedroom, three-bathroom property with killer views on more than 10,000 sqm of absolute beachfront land on the Capricorn Coast has sold for $2.5 million.
The seaside address at 11 Tanby Point Close is on the peninsula at Tanby Point near the towns of Emu Park and Yeppoon, and 48kms from Rockhampton.
It includes two beaches with private access and boundaries extending to high tide water mark on one side, and to a boat shed and ramp with beach access on the other.
The home itself was commissioned by a local family and purpose built to their specific needs.
Every room offers panoramic views to the Keppel islands, north, south and over the adjacent beaches.

The property was sold through Penny Keating of Pat O’Driscoll Real Estate Rockhampton and was the top sale in Queensland in the past week according to property research firm, CoreLogic.
It beat the second biggest sale of the week, which was a classic Queenslander with a tennis court on a separate title.
The house on 1022 sqm at 111 Alexandra Rd, Ascot sold under the hammer for $2.4 million.
The five-bedroom, three-bathroom home was marketed by Ray White Ascot.
Another Queenslander also fetched a high price at auction.

The five-bedroom, three-bathroom house on 812 sqm at 23 Welwyn Crescent, Coorparoo sold for $2.36 million through Place Bulimba.
And in Milton, in Brisbane’s inner west, a six-bedroom character home on a huge elevated block sold for $2.17 million.
The property known as ‘Kildare’ at 28 Nairn Street was built in 1910 and enjoys views of Suncorp Stadium and the city skyline.
It has undergone a complete renovation and sits on an 834 sqm block.
The property was sold by Tim Douglas of Place West.
