'Suspicious item' forces evacuation of Perth CBD

Police are investigating a suspicious package in the heart of the Perth CBD.

Officers say the suspicious item was found in Forrest Chase about 12.40pm.

The area has been evacuated as police investigate.

Officers are currently assessing the situation and nearby areas have been evacuated as a precaution.
