For the third year in a row, Metricon has been named Australia’s number one home builder in the HIA Colorbond Steel Housing Top 100 Report.

The list is based on the number of home builds commenced each year and Metricon topped the tally with a total of 4,764 – up by 397 new builds from the previous financial year – spanning across Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia.

Building activity in 2017-18 was one of the strongest years on record, the report shows, with 222,000 new homes commenced. It was the strongest year for detached house builders in 18 years.
