Spot fires and embers have started up as far away as 1.5 kilometres of the main fire.

Emergency Victoria is urging residents to monitor changes, including increased wind speed, change in wind direction, smoke or poor visibility.

“If you are away from home, do not return,” the Emergency Victoria warning said.

There are strike teams in Scotsburn, Meredith, Mount Mercer and Warrenheip.
