A Greenvale house has been snapped up within two weeks of hitting the market in one of the first sales for 2019.

CoreLogic records show the five-bedroom house with four bathrooms at 24 Adderley Drive was one of 15 properties that were sold in the City of Hume since the start of this year.

A total of 11 homes had changed hands at the same time last year.

YPA Craigieburn’s Eddi Bagdadi said the property was on the market for only two weeks before it sold on January 8 for $970,000 to a family from the northern suburbs.

“It was a quick sale,” he said.

“And the owners were over the moon as it sold beyond their expectations.”

The owner-built showpiece generated good interest when it came on the market because of its location and presentation.

“The buyers loved the neighbourhood, size of the home and quality features,” Mr Bagdadi said.

Demand continued to rise for properties in the Hume region, according to Mr Bagdadi.

“There are many buyers around and a good number of new listings,” he said.

“The market is beginning to stabilise and correct itself.”

CoreLogic records show 55 properties have hit the market since the start of the new year, compared to 45 at the same time last year.
