Take a moment to think about your last trip to a holiday home, think specifically about the moment you stepped through the front door.

Personally, it takes me back to that excitement of a temporary home, racing around and exploring every inch of the house while my parents unpacked all our belongings.

When I visited the Rivergum Homes’ Verto design at Victor Harbour display village, I felt that exact feeling sweep over my body as I walked into the downstairs living area.

Rivergum Homes’ design director John Eckert says creating a relaxing space was at the forefront of their minds when creating the holiday home.

“The Verto epitomises the philosophy behind Rivergum’s Coast and Country range, which has been specially designed to encourage relaxed living and soak up panoramic views,” he says.

Designed to suit a villa allotment, sitting 7.2m wide and 16.19m deep, the design makes a clear impression on a block and the spacious elevated decking makes it ideal for a coastal location.

Walking towards the design, the facade gives a hint that this isn’t a standard holiday home, with a bright weatherboard exterior contrasted by dark grey corrugated cladding.

The sharp, contemporary styling only continues as you enter the lower lounge room, with an on trend statement timber cladded wall drawing your eye and providing the perfect balance between the bright walls and warmtimber floating floors.

Narrowing into a hallway, the three well-sized bedrooms are nestled around the main bathroom and laundry, with the fourth bedroom including a handy storage room.

The laundry is a particular stand out, providing plenty of bench space plus overhead shelving, a linen cupboard and a built-in clothing rack above the sink, elements that are crucial for drying bathers or keeping sandy items off the floor.

Next door, the main bathroom is beautifully styled and features a bath with tiled ledge, shower, vanity and separate toilet, well designed for families.

Walking upstairs, the amount of natural light is outstanding as it amplifies the relaxed and ‘holiday’ feel of the home.

The upper level has been designed to make the most of views, with a range of access points to the balcony and a combination of tall sliding doors and partition windows near the ceiling.

Mirroring the downstairs timber cladded wall, the kitchen island brings some depth to the otherwise bright upper level, creating a space to prepare food or enjoy a relaxed breakfast.

The inclusion of a window splashback ensures any allotment views will be made the most of, plus gives the kitchen a more modern and luxurious appeal.

Blending out into the dining and family area, both spaces have access to the balcony which opens the room completely out and makes outdoor entertaining a breeze.

A sneaky powder room and toilet are located next to the kitchen, which is a welcome feature as it ensures the master ensuite can remain a private space for parents.

Located at the back of the upper level, the master suite is neatly tucked away and when closed off, feels like a small oasis from the rest of the home.

The well-sized bedroom features venetian shutters along the wall connecting to the living area, which although appears an unusual feature actually comes in handy for promoting natural airflow while still ensuring plenty of privacy.

A small attached walkway reveals a sliding robe and ensuite, plus a tall window at the end which drags the outdoor scenery into the master. The ensuite is well sized, with a large vanity, double shower and toilet.

In terms of features, this home has had plenty of thought behind the design as it’s well zoned to balance private and shared spaces, which John says was an important feature during the design process.

“The Verto can adapt easily to the changing needs of growing families,” he says.

“This home appeals to families looking for a spacious and relaxing getaway home, tactically locating the additional bedrooms downstairs with their own large lounge space for separation.”

The home you see on display has been fitted with a range of premium specifications, including the 3.5m raked ceiling height in the living area showing the true potential of the home.

Inspired by modern coastal influences, John says the Verto has been designed to create a sense of relaxation, which I can absolutely vouch has been achieved after walking through the design at length.

“We created a holiday house that is calming and a sanctuary from the normal day-to-day grind, which allows an escape and complements its surroundings,” he says.

Given the amount of features and 191.14sqm total size, the $175,550 price point is well justified as the home promises to grow with your families needs and become a great investment throughout the year.
