A crime scene has been set up after a woman was shot dead on a semi-rural property on Brisbane's south this morning.
Police had responded to reports of a shooting just after 3:00am and found the body of a 40-year-old Megan Kirley when they arrived at the house on Wembley Drive, Karawatha.
Police said a 43-year-old man who lived at the property and was believed to be in a relationship with the woman was assisting them with their inquiries.
He made the triple zero call to police.
Detective Inspector Craig Morrow could not say whether a weapon had been found.
"The scene itself is being examined forensically at the moment, the issue is that it's a large property and that will take some time," he said.
Anyone who was in the area and who may have dashcam footage has been asked to contact police.
