3 Yarringa Rd, Fairhaven has just hit the market.

FORMER Geelong Cats player turned sports commentator Dwayne Russell has listed his stunning Fairhaven holiday house for sale.

Russell and wife Lisa are selling 3 Yarringa Rd with price hopes of $3.4 million to $3.6 million.

The couple bought the house in 2006 for $895,000 and pretty much demolished the existing house and rebuilt it.

The house has easy access to the Great Ocean Road underpass.

Russell, who played 50 games for Geelong after moving from South Australia, said only one wall remained from the original house.

“It was old and facing the wrong way and didn’t make the most of the view,” he said.

“Now you can sit in the loungeroom and watch the kids on the sand and the balcony is on the protected side of the house.”

Russell said there were big windows so you could enjoy the everchanging water and sky.

The modern house has four bedrooms and two living areas.

Russell said a highlight of the property was that it felt like you were on the beach when you were in the house.

“The view is great and it is so easy to go down the beach four or five times a day to go for a swim,” he said.

The couple, that built a new house in Geelong recently, said they didn’t use the Fairhaven house much during summer which lead them to make the decision to sell.

Russell said they were able to watch their two kids grow up down there and now it was time for another family to do the same.

Dwayne Russell said it will be sad to sell the house.

The Russells are selling as they don’t use the house as much anymore.

Great Ocean Properties, Aireys Inlet agent Marty Maher said it was a “beautiful home”.

“It looks straight onto the surf and sand and has easy access to the Great Ocean Road underpass,” Mr Maher said.

The four-bedroom house is spread across two levels and includes two bedrooms, the main bathroom, laundry and rumpus room on the ground floor with two more bedrooms and the open-plan kitchen, meals area and loungeroom upstairs.

Floor to ceiling glass windows in the upstairs living area captures the morning sun and remains protected from westerly winds and harsh afternoon sun.

The house is on 645sq m of prime coastal land.

Offers close March 25.
