UPDATE: The family of a Sydney woman who vanished in “suspicious” circumstances two months ago has made an emotional appeal for her return.

Samah Baker, 30, was last seen by a male friend who dropped her at home at Paramatta, western Sydney in the early hours of Friday January 4.

Relatives reported her missing just hours later after repeated attempts to reach her failed.

“Our family is devastated that we still have not seen or heard from our beloved Samah,” the Baker family said in a statement released by police this afternoon.

“Samah is a very outgoing, vivacious, and kind-hearted person and could make friends with everyone she met. Every day without our much-loved sister and daughter is filled with unimaginable grief.

“We want to find her and bring her home, back where she belongs. Please, if you know where she is, we are begging you to call police.”

.

Parramatta Police Superintendent Julie Boon this morning revealed Ms Baker’s social media account was mysteriously updated after she vanished.

Despite that, investigators believed there was a chance “she may have met with foul play”, she said.

Supt Boon’s comments raise the possibility somebody other than Ms Baker had access to her Facebook account.

This morning, detectives from Strike Force Boutcher, a team of officers from the NSW Homicide Squad and Paramatta Police investigating Ms Baker’s disappearance, released new footage of her last known movements.

The CCTV vision shows Ms Baker riding in a lift inside the Vibe Hotel in North Sydney two days before she went missing.

In the vision, taken on Wednesday, January 2, she is captured on two separate occasions although it was not clear how far apart the trips were.

In the first clip she is seen wearing a strappy peach coloured dress and orange sandals. In the second she is dressed in a black sleeveless top with white spots and denim shorts.

The video shows her exiting and entering the lift with what appears to be the same man, whose face is blurred in the footage.

Family members told the Parramatta Advertiser Ms Baker seemed “very happy” the last time they spoke to her on January 3.

Her mother, who spoke to Ms Baker daily on the phone, called her at 5pm just as her daughter was walking into St Michael’s Catholic Church in Belfield for a night service.

It is believed she left the church at 7pm and went on to have drinks in Chinatown and elsewhere in the Sydney CBD before having dinner in the seaside suburb of Coogee.

A male friend then gave her a lift home, dropping Ms Baker to her Early St, Parramatta property at about 1.30am. Her family has not seen or heard from her since.

“It’s been an agonising two months for Samah’s family as it is a long time to not see or hear from her,” Supt Boon said in a statement.

“It’s very unusual for her not to contact her family for such a long period of time, and there were no known plans of her to leave her home or Sydney.”

Ms Baker is described as being of Mediterranean or Middle Eastern appearance, approximately 160cm tall, of medium build, with long dark hair.

Detectives are particularly interested in anybody who may have driven down Early St, Parramatta on January 4 between 1am and 7am, and who had dashcam footage.

Anybody with information surrounding the disappearance of Samah Baker is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000
