Mr Hawkins is sitting in the living room of 47 Grattan Tce, where a low horizontal window runs along the wall, exposing a slither of blue from the adjacent solar-heated pool.
“You can sit here and see the pool and it gives you a good feeling of brightness and transition.”
The shape and character of this 12-year-old architect-designed house has left a lasting impression on the family of five.
“Family living really worked for us here,” Mr Hawkins said.
“The bedrooms are upstairs and are a good size and there’s a second living area upstairs which is always good.
