A Queensland ride-share driver accused of following a woman into her bedroom and sexually assaulting her after driving her home says he will defend the charges.

The man is accused of following a woman through an unlocked door and attacking her in her own bedroom after picking her up at Broadbeach in the early hours of the morning earlier this month.

Police allege he picked the 21-year-old up in his ride-share car at 2am and drove her to her Southport home.

Police said the woman was able to fight off her alleged attacker inside the house.

The commotion woke other people inside the home and they chased the man away, police said.
