The Darling Point residence that Michael Cannon-Brookes, father of Atlassian co-founder Mike Cannon-Brookes, sold for $5.05 million in 2013 has hit the market again.
This time round, Ray White Double Bay’s Nic Krasnostein has an $8 million price guide for the three-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment with double parking at 1/47 New Beach Rd.
The current vendors, which property records show are Gregory and Donna Maughan, are downsizing, planning to spend more time in Byron Bay.

Judging by the photos, the apartment has barely changed since Mr Cannon-Brookes and his wife, Helen, lived there.
The British financial consultant — he’d arrived in Australia in 1984 from Hong Kong to set up Citibank and served as managing director — had bought it for $4.85 million in April of 2012, selling it just a year later. They moved to Palm Beach’s Snapperman Beach, paying $4.05 million for the top-floor apartment of The Boatshed.
Meanwhile, demand from downsizers for a low-maintenance, single-level home with harbour views by the water has only grown since then.

“For a downsizer to find 499 sqm on a single level is very tough in Sydney,” Mr Krasnostein says.
“And this offers easy access in and out of the city, whether they’re going to their beach house or the airport.”
The exclusive L’amarre building, built 17 years ago, consists of just four whole-floor apartments. There’s direct lift access to the apartment, which is very private.
Property developer Nabil Gazal spent $7.11 million for his 305sq m apartment in the complex in 2016.
