Good morning, and welcome to Melbourne Express.

It's a lovely 14 degrees in the city right now – and it's unlikely anyone will be complaining about a cool and cloudy top of 20 degrees today after yesterday's scorcher.

On the trains, the power has gone out at Greensborough station on the Hurstbridge line. Trains are still operating, but station staff are urging commuters to take extra care while boarding and alighting in the dark. Maybe use your mobile phone lights?!

And on the roads, a three-car crash on Paterson Road, Springvale South, is blocking lanes and delaying traffic this morning. Police are on scene.
