This property at 1 Leopard St, Kangaroo Point, has sold for close to $18m.
THE most expensive home ever sold in Brisbane has changed hands again for close to $18 million.
Three years after setting a new record for a residential property sale in the city, the clifftop mansion at 1 Leopard St, Kangaroo Point, is believed to have been snapped up by a local buyer.
Heath Williams of Place New Farm, who was the listing agent along with colleague Judy Goodger, declined to comment when contacted by The Courier-Mail, citing confidentiality reasons, but it is understood the property sold for close to the $18 million asking price.

The riverfront trophy home fetched $18.48 million when it last sold in March 2017, but the new, albeit lower, sale price is enough for the property to maintain top position as the highest amount paid for a residential property in the city.
The sale smashed Brisbane’s sale record at the time of $14 million, which was set when Australia’s richest person Gina Rinehart bought a home at Aaron Ave, Hawthorne, in 2014.
The second highest residential sale in Brisbane was achieved late last year when the Tennyson home of Brisbane Broncos chairman Karl Morris fetched $17.6 million.

Chinese owners Huihui Zhai and Zijian Zheng bought the Leopard Street property off City Motor Auction Group boss Angelos Russo and his wife, Sandra.
Mr Zheng told The Courier-Mail at the time of listing in May last year that a change in circumstances meant the time had come to sell.
“What we’ve loved about the home is the stunning 180 degree views that capture the city, river and beyond,” Mr Zheng said.
“It has been one of our favourite places to live and we’re sad to be selling, however we have moved overseas for work purposes.”

The house spans three levels and sits on an 1184 sqm block with almost 72 metres of uninterrupted views of the city skyline.
The six-bedroom home was designed by Greg Harris, has 1445sq m of living space and marble flooring imported from Greece in the living and entertaining areas.
But the opulence doesn’t end there.

Other features include an internal lift, a gym, a cinema, a steam room, a climate-controlled wine cellar, a teppanyaki grill and a wood-fired pizza oven.
There is also an infinity lap pool and spa running along the cliff edge.
Speaking during the campaign, Mr Williams said he had received multiple cash offers above $15 million for the property from locals, expats and interstate buyers.

“There’s no comparison to the view,” Mr Williams said.
“It really is one of a kind.”
Mr Williams said Brisbane’s prestige property market represented “amazing value” compared to its Sydney and Melbourne peers.

Even the bathroom has a stunning view.
The top end of the market in Brisbane has already had a strong start to the year, with a number of big sales including Cintra House at 23 Boyd St, Bowen Hills, which sold for close to $7.5 million.
