1401/61 Macquarie Street, Sydney, has sold for more than $12m prior to next week’s scheduled auction.

The daughters of the Lewis construction family, Marnie Lewis-Millar and Shay Lewis-Thorp, have sold their 14th-floor penthouse in Sydney’s famous toaster building ahead of next week’s scheduled auction.

Sotheby’s agent James McCowan and principal Michael Pallier had a $12m guide for the 221 sqm apartment at 1401/61 Macquarie Street and sources said it had sold well in excess of that on Friday night.

The penthouse, which has three bedrooms and two bathrooms and two car spaces, was bought by the late Bernard Lewis and his late wife Toni in 1998 when the Macquarie St apartments were built.

It was on the northwest corner of the 14th floor and had unbeatable views of the Bridge, Opera House and Circular Quay.

Meanwhile, Pallier has scheduled the luxurious Gap Road, Watsons Bay home once owned by the fashion designer turned property investor Collette Dinnigan for October 31 auction.

It’s now owned by Justin and Dom Hind, co-founders of WITH Collective digital advertising, who bought it from Dinnigan for $9m, the price guide is $13m.

The Hinds have spent $5m upgrading the five-bedroom, five-bathroom home with pool, calling in architects Weir Phillips and landscape designer Will Dangar.

Dinnigan, who owned the former Watsons Bay Masonic Hall building for just 18 months, had also done a renovation.

She’d bought it from James Packer’s former right-hand man Matthew ‘Ched’ Csidei and his lawyer wife Lauren Roscoe.
