THE votes are in and the people have spoken — a dreamy Ibiza-inspired beach pad in Burleigh Heads has been voted Queensland’s favourite house.
Bajo El Sol Beach House, built by PJH Constructions, was the 2020 People’s Choice recipient at the Master Builders Queensland Housing & Construction Awards on Friday night.

The popular photo shoot location was a runaway favourite, attracting thousands of votes to top off a stellar year for PJH Constructions.
The Bajo El Sol project won the Individual Home $951,000 – $1.25 million category at the Master Builders Gold Coast Housing & Construction Awards in July, where director Paul Harms also received the Ron McMaster Memorial Award for Excellence in Craftsmanship.
The vision for the picture perfect residence came from owner and interior designer Kelle Howard who now plays host to big name brands for high end photo shoots.

The Master Builders Queensland Housing & Construction Awards recognise the state’s finest builders across 58 categories.
Among other Gold Coast winners, JB Pool Construction won Best Residential Swimming Pool for their Bayview Walk in Sanctuary Cove.

Ingenious Homes took out the Home Renovation/Remodelling Project $576,000 – $1 million category for their Broadbeach Waters Residence project.

Enterprise Constructions’ Clear Island Waters Residence received the Individual Home ($1.26 million – $2 million) award while Best Use of Steel Frame Housing was taken out by DTL Constructions for their Edgecliff Cove project in Hope Island.
Hutchinson Builders took out the top commercial and residential awards, including Project of the Year for Brisbane Skytower – a $1 billion ‘vertical village’ in Brisbane’s CBD – and House of the Year for their Seaview Terrace home in Sunshine Beach.
The third major award – the President’s Award – was won by Brighton Homes’ Kenzie 26 – a contemporary meets country-style home chosen for value for money, design and liveability.
