A former childcare worker in Adelaide's northern suburbs — and his ex-partner — have been ordered to stand trial on child exploitation charges.

Bronte Ciracovitch pleaded not guilty in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today to seven charges, including maintaining an unlawful sexual relationship with a child and producing and possessing child exploitation material.

The 30-year-old — who appeared via video link from the Mount Gambier Prison — will be arraigned in the District Court in August along with his co-accused and former partner, Kane Graham Rockley, who also pleaded not guilty to one count of producing child exploitation material.

Mr Rockley's lawyer, David Moen, told the court his client contested the charge.

Mr Moen said "e-crime" evidence would show his client was not in possession of the mobile phone in question at the time.

Ciracovitch last week admitted to one charge of producing child exploitation material of a child under the age of 14, in September 2020.

The Adelaide Magistrates Court heard that victim was a child at the childcare centre where he worked.
