Authorities are responding to a suspected shark attack off the coast of Broome in Western Australia's Kimberley region.
A man, aged in his 40s, was diving off Quondong Beach, about 50 kilometres north of the town, when he was bitten by a three-metre tiger shark about 11:00am.
He suffered a laceration to his right arm, and was brought back to Cable Beach in Broome via boat.

)He has been taken to Broome Hospital for treatment, but is conscious and has not suffered any other critical injuries.
WA Police and local rangers are monitoring the waters around Broome, but Cable Beach will not be closed.
Shark attacks are historically rare in the Kimberley, with the death of Broome man Charles Cernobori off Cable Beach last year the first in three decades.
But tiger sharks are an endemic presence off the coast of the town and the Dampier Peninsula.
Authorities have advised anyone in the area around Quondong and Willie Creek to take additional care in the water, urging people to notify Water Police in the event of any further shark sightings.
