The Veronicas’ Lisa Origliasso has bought a rural property in northern NSW. Picture: supplied.

ONE half of musical duo The Veronicas has quietly bought a rural retreat in northern New South Wales for $300,000 more than the property sold for less than a year ago.

It’s understood Lisa Origliasso and her actor husband, Logan Huffman, purchased the acreage property in a small town in the Tweed Valley.

One half of The Veronicas has bought this rural retreat in the Tweed Valley.

Property records show they paid $970,000 for the three-bedroom, two-bathroom house on 2ha, which was significantly cheaper than its last listed price of $1.2 million.

But the property had previously only sold in June 2020 for just $650,000.

The property occupies 2ha of land with views of the Border Ranges and Mt Warning.

The chart-topping twins obviously have a lust for the treechange lifestyle, given their last property was in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

Lisa and her sister, Jessica, sold that rural retreat in Landsborough for $770,000 in October last year.

The Tweed Valley home has cathedral ceilings and timber features.

The Tweed property includes a timber cottage with a cathedral ceiling and a wraparound veranda to take in stunning views of the Border Ranges and Mt Warning.

There’s also a creek, 5kW of solar power and plenty of space to run livestock or grow veggies, which is something the sisters loved being able to do on their Sunshine Coast property.

The wraparound veranda is a great way to take in the hinterland views.

Selling agent Matthew Skene of Kollosche – Broadbeach said the property attracted multiple offers and sold for “a good price”.

“People just walked into it and loved it,” Mr Skene said. “It was tastefully renovated and it’s just a beautiful block of land and exceptionally private.”

Mr Skene said inquiries for properties in the northern NSW region had been “crazy” and many homes were selling before even going to market.

“There’s a bit of a frenzy going on,” he said. “People are looking to get out of the rat race.”

The property is a real rural retreat, featuring a babbling creek and plenty of green space.

Fresh from their stint on Celebrity Apprentice, the Brisbane singing sensations are set to return to reality TV on RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under.

The 36-year-old twins, who will appear as guest judges, announced the news via Instagram in honour of Pride Month in the US.

They will help find Australia’s first “Drag Superstar”, who will pocket a $30,000 prize.

The Veronicas blamed editing for their “villain” portrayal on Celebrity Apprentice.

It comes amid controversy over their portrayal on Celebrity Apprentice after the outspoken sisters blasted the show, claiming they’d been misrepresented and made to appear “manipulative” all in the name of entertainment.
