My neck has taken a pounding over the years, especially from the sun, so I’m constantly tracking down new fixes. Here’s my latest.

The lowdown Profilo filler treatment is a new product designed to treat skin crepiness, so who better to road-test it than me (with some help from Dr Steven Liew)? There is not a lot of fat in the neck and it is constantly exposed to the elements, so this is the area we’ll tackle. Profilo combines two different types of hyaluronic acid to improve skin laxity and hydration when injected. It’s very efficient at dispersing over the neck area and works to nourish the fat cells in the neck as well as boost hydration and create new collagen.

Pain factor I took some paracetamol pre-treatment and the treatment itself was tolerable and quick. I didn’t bruise, which is rare for me.

Downtime The treatment consists of two or three sessions, each lasting 15 minutes, four weeks apart.

Results At the 10 injection sites it looked as if I had been bitten by a substantial mosquito and this swelling lasted for 12 hours. Now, two weeks after the third treatment, my neck definitely looks more taut.
