Be warned — this episode deals with bodily functions. A LOT of bodily functions.

Whether its Tom breaking wind in bed, Rachel belching in the car or Ryan sharing updates from the toilet there are a lot of bathroom noises to be heard.

And that’s timely because this week everyone has $22,000 to renovate an ensuite. But before they could get cracking on the demolition and construction, they got a chance to tour each other’s properties to see what the competition presented to the judges the night before.

Even losers are grinners when they finally get caffeine.

Omar and Oz may have come last, but they had plenty to celebrate. Ramadan was over and so they could now start their days with a coffee rather than an empty stomach.

This put them in a better mood than some of their rivals who were less than impressed by the judges’ scores after seeing the rooms for themselves.

The groups universally agreed that Jenny and Dylan’s boudoir was stunning. They were underwhelmed by host Scott Cam’s efforts, with Tom saying it wasn’t big enough to swing a cat in.

But they reserved their harshest feedback for the winners, Sharon and Ankur, who had seized victory from Jenny and Dylan by playing their gnome advantage (which awards them an additional point).

arah Jane and Tom declare the winning room “c**p!” and an offence to their eyes.

“Love Sharon. Love Anks. But this is just crap!” Sarah-Jane said with hands to her face in pure disgust.

Hubby Tom agreed: “Dylan and Jenny’s room is next level good. How there is only half a point between them [and winners Ankur and Sharon], I’ll never know.

Ryan and Rachel are underwhelmed by Sharon and Ankur’s winning room.

Though delighted with their victory, Sharon said she was hoping that a spa bath and open fire would be the secret weapons to claiming top spot without using a gnome so that she could avoid bitterness from other teams. Little did she know it was too late for that.

Having seen Sharon’s winning room, Rachel and Sarah-Jane wasted no time getting on the phone to each other to tear strips off its finish and styling. Sarah-Jane even went so far as to call it “the worst room” on The Block.

Sharon and Ankur are feeling defeated.

Sharon and Ankur were feeling defeated before their win.

Still smarting from the judges’ feedback that her styling wasn’t country enough, Rachel agreed wholeheartedly that Sharon and Ankur’s effort wasn’t a winning room because it wasn’t at the same standard as house 4.

“If I was Dyl and Jen I would be not happy,” she added.

And they weren’t, especially when the Gold Coast couple looked up to sight the shoddy paintwork and bizarrely placed ceiling rose.

Jenny found it particularly hard to let go of being the bridesmaid yet again and kept bringing up the other team’s slapdash painting whenever there was a gap in the conversation on site.

And just when Jenny didn’t think her day could get any worse, she discovered she had a flat tyre.

It all proved too much for her because, by the time she got to Beaumont tiles she found herself incapable of making a decision.

She got so overwhelmed that she had to have a quick lie down. As you do.

It was a different story for Rachel, who knew exactly which tiles she needed to bring her vision together.

After a speedy visit to Beaumont, Rachel called husband Ryan to gloat about her shopping prowess.

The day goes from bad to worse for a deflated Jenny.

Ryan was eager to share some big news too. He was finally over a nasty bout of constipation. Rachel was particularly delighted that he chose to share this news with her on camera as it was happening, live.

Sarah-Jane was also in the mood to overshare.

“I am going to be a raging bitch for the next seven days because my menstrual cycle has commenced,” she declared.

“If people thought I was nasty before, fasten your seatbelts because you’re in for a ride.”

True to her word, Sarah-Jane quickly got into a heated debate with Tom over their ensuite lay-out.

It’s doubtful it can solely be blamed on hormones though as this couple’s planning process always seems to involve a lot of shouting, expletives and the occasional fart (from Tom).

It’s business as usual for Tom and Sarah-Jane who start the week arguing over the lay-out.

Having lost the war of words with Tom, Sarah-Jane headed to Reese to select her bathtub, where she unleashed on the sales assistant.

First, she filled the poor woman in on the many ways in which Tom had annoyed her and then she got stuck into their merchandise.

You see, Sarah-Jane has decided to install a claw foot bath in her ensuite rather than the main bathroom because she didn’t want to waste something so special on children.

She insisted on white feet on the bath, telling the sales assistant that she thought the ones with gold legs were “fugly”.

“Two other contestants did it and it made me want to vomit. No offence to anyone here who has those feet in their bathrooms,” she added.

In fairness, she was right. Those bath feet were indeed “fugly”.
