THE home of Queensland’s ‘next Jack Miller’ is now under contract, with the acreage property selling ahead of its scheduled auction.

Located at 330 Kelso Drive in Kelso, the six bedroom residence sits on a sprawling 8.5 hectares just 30 minutes from the Townsville CBD, and comes complete with a purpose-built track for motocross enthusiasts.

M Property agent Martin McDonough, who marketed the property and described it as “pretty special”, said “Thomas is the next Jack Miller”.

“That track, it is world class and probably $100,000 on its own,” he said at the time.

He would not disclose the actual sales price but said it was between $1.35 million and $1.4 million, making it a residential sales record for the suburb.

The median house price in Kelso is $317,000, according to the latest REA Market Trends report for October.

“It went under contract last Thursday to a lovely local family with three kids,” he said.

“They are motorbike riders and have lots of toys.

“The wife wanted the house and the husband wanted the backyard.”

Mr McDonough said there were four offers on the property, which was scheduled to go to auction tomorrow, October 25.

He said the Woods family would likely relocate to the US within the next few months.

The home itself has been updated and offers four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an open plan lounge and dining area that flows out to the north-facing terrace and in-ground pool.

“From what I know there are only three tracks like this in Townsville, one across the road and the other at the Millers place,” he said at the time of listing.
