Kalang House, a mid-century modern home, at Killara has fetched $4.05m after having been listed with $3.6m ­expectations through Marcus Lloyd-Jones at Modern House.

It has been bought by a family syndicate associated with Annabel Osborn Brodie.

The house, which enjoys views over a gully of ferns and a running creek, last sold in 2016 at $2.05m to artist Anna Johnson and Graham Maslen.

The four-bedroom, four-bathroom house, with study, has 230sq m of internal space after it was renovated and ­extended in the late 1980s.

Harry Seidler worked on the home’s renovation and extension in the 1980s.


It was the work of two architects with David Griffin designing the home on the 1119sq m Kalang Ave bush site in 1967 and then two decades later Harry Seidler ­doing the substantial add­ition for his neighbours, the Cohen family.
